This is despite SW students managing caseloads in the thousands throughout Wales during the pandemic. \r\n\r\nThe lack of parity of esteem between Social & Health care is epitomised by the differential treatment among Welsh students. WG announced a record funding of £227m for the education and training of the NHS workforce. Less than 0.2% of that sum would rectify the difficulties facing SW masters students in Wales.","state":"completed","signature_count":475,"threshold_for_referral":50,"threshold_for_debate":10000,"created_at":"2021-06-01T09:00:43.208Z","updated_at":"2026-04-24T11:48:01.566Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2021-06-03T10:57:32.882Z","closed_at":"2021-12-03T23:59:59.999Z","completed_at":"2022-04-24T23:00:00.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2021-06-01T09:07:27.000Z","referral_threshold_reached_at":"2021-06-03T18:44:57.000Z","referred_at":"2021-12-05T00:00:00.000Z","debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"archived_at":"2026-04-24T11:48:01.560Z","submitted_on_paper":false,"submitted_on":null,"creator_name":null,"rejection":null,"debate":null,"topics":[{"code":"education","name":"Education"},{"code":"social-care","name":"Social Care"}]}},{"type":"petition","id":244832,"links":{"self":"https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244832.json"},"attributes":{"action":"Tax peat instead of banning it","background":"Now, again, there is a momentum to ban peat. The peat industry uses 3 million cubic meters of peat every year. How this volume will be substituted? \r\n\r\nTaxing peat at the point that it is purchased by the horticultural industry will allow the recycling industry to adapt, if it doesn't we as consumers will pay the price and this will very costly. PAS100 compost will not replace peat. Taxing peat will restart projects to develop peat substitutes which collapsed because they couldn't compete with cheap peat. If you tax peat for 5 years, that peat replacement will become competitive again and a complete ban can follow.","additional_details":"I am Technical Manager for an horticultural company that developed, back in 2010/2012, a peat substitute very successfully from the technical point of view.","state":"rejected","signature_count":5,"threshold_for_referral":50,"threshold_for_debate":10000,"created_at":"2021-05-23T06:54:17.165Z","updated_at":"2026-04-07T14:14:33.091Z","rejected_at":"2021-12-04T00:00:00.000Z","opened_at":"2021-06-02T08:41:44.386Z","closed_at":"2021-12-02T23:59:59.999Z","completed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2021-05-24T15:54:27.000Z","referral_threshold_reached_at":null,"referred_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"archived_at":"2026-04-07T14:14:31.435Z","submitted_on_paper":false,"submitted_on":null,"creator_name":null,"rejection":{"code":"insufficient","details":null},"debate":null,"topics":[{"code":"agriculture","name":"Agriculture Forestry and Food"},{"code":"economy-and-finance","name":"Business, Economy and Finance"},{"code":"environment","name":"Environment"}]}},{"type":"petition","id":244839,"links":{"self":"https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244839.json"},"attributes":{"action":"Back small businesses: Fund, Support and Use Welsh Businesses","background":"The Welsh Government should sign up to the 100 Day Manifesto for Small Businesses in Wales.\r\n1.
