Did you know a black healthcare worker cannot wear large braids to work because it is “unprofessional”? Such policies discriminate against black people because our hair comes in different forms and textures and, because of such policies, we are predisposed to racist remarks from racist co-workers. EDF’s license granted by England’s MMO to dump Hinkley mud in the Severn Estuary shows contempt for Welsh interests and the international conservation designations.\r\n\r\nStewardship of this Marine Protected Area is shared between Welsh and English authorities but MMO’s decision will harm both fish and ecology of the Estuary and the Welsh people.","additional_details":"This is a consequence of building a water intake for the new power station which in itself will kill millions of fish when operational.\r\n \r\nThe estuary is an internationally designated Marine Protected Area and the dumped materials, including chemical and radioactive contaminants, will spread on the strong tidal currents all around the Estuary, depositing on its mud banks and beaches. The MMO must halt the dumping immediately before any further damage is done to the safety and wellbeing of the estuary, its inhabitants and coastal populations of Avonmouth, Bristol, Newport, Cardiff, Barry and beyond.\r\n\r\nAlready many 100,000s of tonnes have been dumped - with much more still to be dredged and dumped. Reviewing papers years and years after the event can have a significant detrimental effect on a person's well being and families.\r\n\r\nEvery person has human rights and should be informed about the right to view their file","additional_details":"Because I was so passionate about helping other children I chose to study youth & community work degree and during a discussion with my lecturer, as they knew I had been in care during previous conversations, they asked if I had asked for my data protection file which I had no idea what it was or what they were referring too. They told me what to do, I followed the procedure and was handed the file. The man looked at me with empathy as he had read it. I was a bit shocked and confused by the empathy he was showing me. I went home with this file quite interested at this point to have a read especially due to the man’s expression on his face knowing he had read the file also, low and behold I had no idea what was ahead of me, I was exposed to all the childhood trauma and neglect that I had experienced and it was such a shock to me that I had to be seen by a psychiatrist due to revisiting past trauma.
