Holidays can be extremely educational, giving the children awareness of the world in which we live. \n","additional_details":null,"state":"completed","signature_count":1008,"threshold_for_referral":50,"threshold_for_debate":5000,"created_at":"2014-02-18T00:00:00.000Z","updated_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2014-02-18T00:00:00.000Z","closed_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","completed_at":"2020-02-04T00:00:00.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2014-02-18T00:00:00.000Z","referral_threshold_reached_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","referred_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"archived_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","submitted_on_paper":false,"submitted_on":null,"creator_name":null,"rejection":null,"debate":null,"topics":[]}},{"type":"petition","id":365,"links":{"self":"https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/365.json"},"attributes":{"action":"Call in All Opencast Mining Planning Applications","background":"We call upon the National Assembly for Wales to urge the Welsh Government to call in all opencast mining planning applications over 10 years duration or over 350 hectares in size because the implications of these developments are far reaching and long standing with effects beyond the immediate locality. \n","additional_details":null,"state":"completed","signature_count":6630,"threshold_for_referral":50,"threshold_for_debate":5000,"created_at":"2014-02-17T00:00:00.000Z","updated_at":"2020-04-29T19:58:05.548Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2014-02-17T00:00:00.000Z","closed_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","completed_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2014-02-17T00:00:00.000Z","referral_threshold_reached_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","referred_at":"2014-07-09T00:00:00.000Z","debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":"2018-06-27T00:00:00.000Z","archived_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","submitted_on_paper":false,"submitted_on":null,"creator_name":null,"rejection":null,"debate":{"debated_on":"2018-06-27","transcript_url":"https://record.assembly.wales/Plenary/4995#A44471","video_url":"http://www.senedd.tv/en/4995?startPos=10754&l=en","debate_pack_url":"","overview":"The petition was debated on 27 June 2018"},"topics":[]}},{"type":"petition","id":363,"links":{"self":"https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/363.json"},"attributes":{"action":"Treating Pernicious Anaemia","background":"We call on the Welsh Government to change the way Pernicious Anaemia is treated away from the current one-size-fits-all format towards a regimen based on the patient’s individual needs and where the patient is offered a choice of how he or she receives their replacement therapy B12 including self-administered injections. \n \nAdditional Information: The usually prescribed treatment of Pernicious Anaemia is one injection every three months. There is also increasing evidence that chips can cause cancer in animals. A collar with a tag is by far the easiest and most effective way of reuniting a dog and its owner- anyone who can read can use this system. Scientific evidence has shown that the species is extremely vulnerable to hunting pressures. In their consultation report, the Welsh Government also admit that failure to take appropriate steps to reduce as far as possible Greenland White-fronted geese adult mortality could be seen as a failure to meet conservation obligations. Unlike Scotland, Ireland, Iceland and Greenland there is no current ban on the shooting and killing of this endangered bird in Wales. A voluntary ban is in place on part of the Dyfi estuary in Wales but there is evidence that the geese also use other areas away from the estuary in mid and North Wales where no voluntary agreements are in place. \n \nThe population of these geese, as a whole, is declining and they have been of conservation concern since the late 1970s when sharp declines triggered protection from hunting on their wintering grounds. While WOS has acknowledged that long running voluntary bans on shooting are in place at some wetlands such as the Dyfi Estuary, it believes that nothing less than a statutory ban on shooting will ensure its protection. It is questioned if Cardiff Council were able to use section 78 powers under the building act to progress their plans, and this needs to be investigated openly. \nSo much of Cardiff Bay’s social and built heritage has already been destroyed; it seems inconceivable that more can be cast aside with cynical abandon. \nIt’s unclear why the council refuses to see the value of restoring the Coal Exchange to protect this iconic building for the use and enjoyment of future generations. \nThe issues are of the highest level of public interest, and it is considered essential that an open public consultation occurs to review matters. \n\n","additional_details":"The council have used section 78 powers of the building act to progress plans for the removal of all internal structure. However, there is no evidence that the use of such powers were justified. The building has not collapsed, or even partially collapsed in the period since the powers were used. However, the use of the s78 powers has enabled works to progress without the control or monitoring or heritage bodies. Some may view this as a cynical attempt to conceal the wider plans for the building.\n","state":"completed","signature_count":3069,"threshold_for_referral":50,"threshold_for_debate":5000,"created_at":"2013-11-29T00:00:00.000Z","updated_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2013-11-29T00:00:00.000Z","closed_at":"2014-03-04T00:00:00.000Z","completed_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-11-29T00:00:00.000Z","referral_threshold_reached_at":"2014-03-04T00:00:00.000Z","referred_at":"2014-03-04T00:00:00.000Z","debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"archived_at":"2016-03-01T00:00:00.000Z","submitted_on_paper":false,"submitted_on":null,"creator_name":null,"rejection":null,"debate":null,"topics":[]}},{"type":"petition","id":349,"links":{"self":"https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/349.json"},"attributes":{"action":"Involving lecturers to ensure a Further Education Inspection Framework that is fit for purpose","background":"We believe that: 1. The inclusion of the views of lecturing staff, in the early decision making process would be of great benefit to the development of an inspection framework that is fit for purpose; 2. Due to the increased emphasis there will be on soft skills, professional input from those who understand and work with the complexities of balancing pedagogy, with the demands of students, employers and Welsh Government priorities, it would seem prudent to include those that are at the heart of delivering this agenda; 3. Education services in Wales should be seen as part of a wider family, but are concerned that the FE sector and in this case in particular, FE lecturers are rather excluded from this family and are not being afforded the professional respect that they deserve. \n \nAdditional Information: 1. As the largest Union representing Further Education lecturers in Wales, the University and College Union has been excluded from the Estyn Advisory Group that has been set up to develop the new inspection framework for Further Education Institutions in Wales; 2. The Advisory Group currently consists almost entirely of Principals or Vice Principals and representatives of Estyn; 3. The University and College Union has been excluded from being involved in the Advisory Group despite making numerous requests to Estyn to be involved. \n \n\n","additional_details":"Background:1.
