Completed petition Keep Our Community Hospital

We the undersigned call upon our National Assembly for Wales to urge the Welsh Assembly Government to look into and address the proposed closure of Blaina and District Hospital by the local health board.

Additional information:This hospital has served our community for over 100 years,and is used for many purposes. One of these purposes is that once the elderly patients are ready to leave other hospitals such has nevill hall abergavenny,but not quite ready to return to home,they therefore spend a period of time at blaina hospital. The hospital also offers and provides the community with 42 beds in two wards, and approximately 80 full and part-time staff.Nantyglo Ward has 32 beds the General Practitioner Ward has 10 beds The hospital provides sub-acute and rehabilitation inpatient care including physiotherapy and occupational therapy for the local community, and a range of outpatient services including:adult medicine outpatient clinics continence advice outpatient physiotherapy outpatient occupational therapy radiology podiatry rheumatology outpatient clinics diabetic and dietetic clinics twice monthly The hospital is also a base for the Blaenau Gwent Rapid Response team.
