Rejected petition Cymraeg i Blant groups for Chepstow and Caldicot

We call on the National Assembly for Wales to urge the Welsh Government to review the pre-school provision for Welsh Language in south Monmouthshire and ensure that there is at least one Cymraeg i Blant group in Caldicot and one group in Chepstow.

We used to have  groups running in both Chepstow and Caldicot, until it was seen fit to move them elsewhere. These groups were very well supported and are sorely missed. There is a clear skew towards provision in other parts of the county - despite the funding being for the whole of Monmouthshire. Monmouth has two groups, Abergavenny three, and Raglan and Usk have one each. It's less than a 10 minute drive from Raglan to Usk and they have a population of less than 5,000 between them.

The best way to reach the most families would be to have a Baby Massage and Yoga Class for younger babies in one town, and a Story, Rhyme and Sign in the other one, for older babies and toddlers. This reflects the provision in other areas of the county, and is also what we previously had.
