Rejected petition Build a permanent Eisteddfod building at the centre of Wales
I would like a large building built at the centre of Wales to help promote cultural identity, not only to encourage Welsh culture, but to also help promote cultures around the world.
The national Eisteddfod has promoted cultural diversity for years, yet it is evident that more needs to be done to educate the public on why human diversity is important.
If we were to build such a building, it would help promote and teach adults and children alike to how rich and diverse humanity is.
More details
This building would have to look striking to the eye, to help it stand out, prominently to anyone who would visit.
It would be advised to structure is similar to Sain Ffagan, but circular to distribute cultures equally.
This would not replace the travelling Eisteddfod, but rather act as its HQ and a cultural hub which would be open all year round.
Investment in such a project would eventually pay for itself after a few years due to tourism.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.
The Eisteddfod is a charity, with its own governance. Although the Eisteddfod has received Welsh Government grant funding, this is not their main source of income.
Decisions regarding it's future would be a matter for the Eisteddfod.
As a result, it is not possible for the Senedd to take the action called for by your petition.
