Rejected petition Table a Vote of No Confidence in First Minister Mark Drakeford
Mark Drakeford's disastrous handling of the Covid-19 lockdown will further increase the economic inequality between England and Wales, and at this point, is causing significantly more harm to the health and wellbeing of the Welsh people than the limited risk of the Coronavirus. This petition is asking for a Vote of No Confidence to be tabled against the First Minister, as he does not have the support of the Welsh people.
More details
Mark Drakeford's insistence that businesses in Wales remain closed, and the Welsh people remain at home, will destroy the economy, and significantly harm the health and well-being of the Welsh people. The negligible benefits of lockdown are not being weighed against the ongoing health risks to the Welsh people. Families are suffering with no support, the lack of social contact is causing huge levels of stress and anxiety, health appointments and consultations are being missed, and all while many people are waiting to be made redundant. Wales has some of the most restrictive lockdown measures still in place, while the Covid-19 statistics show that the disease is well and truly on the wane. Drakeford's proposed solution is to ask Westminster for more money. The Welsh people are more than capable of supporting themselves, they just need a functioning economy.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about appointments or resignations.
We can't accept petitions about appointments or resignations through the Senedd’s petitions process. This includes calling for Ministers to be sacked, resign or for a vote of no confidence.
If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that is the responsibility of the Senedd or the Welsh Government, you could start a petition about that.
