Rejected petition Allow couples from different households to have physical contact, outside of extended households.
Although people in Wales can now join in extended households, this does not allow for couples who still live with family to have physical contact with their partner, from another household.
Restricting households to only connecting with one other household has meant that many people still do not have the opportunity to meet physically with their partner, as their choice of extended household is restricted by the needs/wants of their household. This can have detrimental effects on wellbeing.

Many of these couples are now expected to go to work, but do not have the opportunity to meet their love and belonging needs as set out by Maslow, in his 1943 paper on human motivation. This may have an impact on individual wellbeing and ability to manage the unprecedented stresses of the country's current socio-economic situation.
