Rejected petition Provide new/re-open safe off road horseriding routes & address the 60mph speed limit of rural roads.
The horse riding community is in an extremely vulnerable position with country lanes having a speed limit of 60mph and off road riding routes being frequently withdrawn.
WG has invested heavily to improve facilities for walkers and cyclists, but we have been forgotten.
As a matter of safety, we urge WG to reinstate/reopen closed bridleways and access routes which offer safety for children and adult riders alike and address the 60mph limit on rural single carriageways.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.
Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue. The provision of local safe riding routes is the responsibility of individual local authorities and you could consider contacting Cardiff Council or your local representatives about this matter instead.
However, the Senedd could consider a petition on speed limits on rural roads if it calls for a specific change, such as a change to the speed limit.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
