Many place names are being returned to their previous "native" versions, like Uluru (Ayres Rock) etc.

Snowdon and Snowdonia should officially be known as Yr Wyddfa and Eryri their actual names.

Many people claim this would adversely impact on tourism but the opposite has been proven.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Petitions to the Senedd need to relate to an issue that the Senedd or Welsh Government could take direct action on, and it is not clear how you would intend the Welsh Government to centrally change the name of the mountain and area. Issues relating to information, signage and promotion are the responsibility of Snowdonia National Park Authority or the local authorities in the area.
