Rejected petition Change Faenol Avenue to double yellow lines between Berthglyd and Llwyn Morfa

Many people park on this road and block gaps which have been left to let people through, causing complete gridlock. If this road were to have double yellow lines it would ease congestion. There is a free car park on Water Street, parking spaces on Peel Street and parking in Abergele college for those who actually need to drive to school.

More details

We all understand wherever possible it’s best to walk your children to school but for some people this is not possible. I.e people/children with disabilities, people who need to get to work for a certain time where flexi time is not offered in the workplace, people who live just outside of the town centre (St George, Llanfair TH, Betws, Moelfre etc). Double yellow lines between these 2 streets opposite the college would help ease congestion and make people think oh instead of taking the car I could actually walk that little extra distance and things may be a little easier for everyone on the school run.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Roads, other than trunk roads, are the responsibility of local councils. Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue.

You could consider contacting Conwy County Borough Council or your local representatives about this matter instead.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
