Rejected petition Businesses to pay staff working from home realistic costs of extra heat/light computer/printer
Currently HMRC allow businesses to pay £6 a week tax (£312 a year) free to people who work from home. The real cost of working 40hours a week from home is more like £1200 a year and that is without the cost of equipment used ie: personal computer/printer stationary and sundries. not forgetting the extra house insurance needed for home workers
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.
Petitions to the Senedd must call for a specific action that falls within the powers of the Senedd or Welsh Government. HMRC is a department of the UK Government and responsibility over tax is not devolved, except in relation to specific devolved taxes. As a result, it is not possible for the Senedd to take the action called for by your petition.
You may wish to consider petitioning the UK Parliament regarding this matter instead: https://petition.parliament.uk/
Further information about the legislative powers of the Senedd can be found here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
