Rejected petition Change the wording used for Senco children and schools

The wording used for Senco children and schools at present is "special" now this is singling out children with additional needs this word needs changing We want the word SPECIAL gone completely

More details

By calling a child special or the school they attend special it is singling them out an discriminating against them as you are pointing out they are different to other which they are not we shouldn't be making these children feel different it also makes them a target to bulling as children are told these children r special so again it's singling them out and causing the children a lot of mental health issues let's get rid of the word SPECIAL altogether everyone is the same no one is different!!
The word SPECIAL needs removing altogether so many children are subjected to bulling because of this word my son is one of them we teach are kids they are all the same and then people carry on using this word

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition. We think your petition is covered by Government or Senedd action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

The Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018 replaces the current Special Educational Needs (SEN) system with a new system based on Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Therefore the current legal term ‘SEN’ will be replaced with ‘ALN’. The new system is not yet in effect but is due to be implemented from September 2021.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
