Rejected petition Hold the line on supermarkets NOT being allowed to sell "non-essential" items during lockdown.

There is already a petition to relax the rule on selling non essential items. I believe there is at least an equal strength of public opinion to keep the measure in place. The Welsh Assembly have shown strong leadership & need to minimise reasons to go out & limit time in stores to help save lives & to relax this rule risks undermining the effectiveness of the fire-break.

I can't quote studies but common sense says the less reasons & opportunities you give people to go out, the less they will go out. The less they go out, the less risk of spreading Covid - it's simple mathematics. I've already lost my father to Covid & don't want to see any other unecessary deaths.
