Rejected petition Immediately stop First Minister of Wales imposing rules without debate & vote by AM’s in the Senedd

The Welsh Government shows a total disregard for the Senedd with its handling of Covid-19 regulations. We ask that the First Minister (or any minister) immediately stop imposing rules without a debate and vote in the Senedd. Mr Drakeford (and his ministers) are abusing their subordinate legislative powers as laid out in the Senedd guide for legislative process May 2020 section(s) 05.2.29. Senedd scrutiny is the responsibility of the Llywydd & we are also calling for her immediate resignation.

More details

Sir Lindsay Hoyle (speaker of the houses of Parliament) slammed the UK Government back in September 2020 for imposing rules without the bringing them before parliament to be debated & voted on. The very foundation of democracy demands scrutiny failure to ensure this process risks undermining the rule of law.
