Rejected petition Allow offers accepted on a property to qualify for the LTT(stamp duty) holiday, before 31st March.

Allow people who have had an offer accepted an offer on a property up until 31st March 2021 to qualify for the LTT (stamp duty) holiday.

At the moment the guidance states the purchase must complete by this date, however, people should be able to make an offer with the knowledge of whether they will have to pay LTT or not.

Any offer that has been accepted before the cut off date should qualify for the holiday.

More details

Due to the current financial uncertainty the government should give people full knowledge of what costs they will encounter before putting in an offer. the government shouldn’t put pressure on those working to complete house moves before this cut off date.
