Rejected petition Save Churchstoke Primary School

Powys county council are currently reviewing closing down churchstoke primary school. This school is the heart of the village. The teachers know our children on a personal level not just a number. Our children are thriving there, we are able to walk to school, this wouldn’t be possible if it was closed everyone would have to drive to the nearest one which is going to escalate into the residents of churchstoke moving out of the area as not every parent can afford to drive their children to school

More details

New houses have just been built in the area which means more children have started the primary school also more children at the pre school that will soon be joining the primary school. The school is growing quickly, there is children in churchstoke primary school who have needed extra support this school has gone above and beyond to make it happen and the children have completely peaked with confidence and are getting on so well. Shutting our school would completely rip this community apart it really is the heart of the village. With the extra pressure of everything going on at the moment is this really the right time to be reviewing closing our school and putting all this onto our children. Their mental health matters too..
