Rejected petition Make first time buyers exempt from Land Transaction Tax rather than following the standard LTT rates

Currently first time buyers in Wales have to follow the same Land Transaction Tax rates as anyone else looking to buy a property in Wales. Although in many parts of Wales some first time buyers are unlikely to be above the £180,000 threshold, the prices are rising across the country and first time buyers may either be deterred or priced out by having to spend thousands on LTT. First time buyers should have an incentive to buy in or move to Wales like their counterparts in England.
