Rejected petition Prevent the sale of green land at Thistle Court in Ty Canol to a private developer

The area is used by the wider community and should be able to be enjoyed by the majority and not the select few. The wellbeing of our community has been affected by lockdowns and the removal of our 1 remaining Green Space would be catastrophic.

More details

It is the belief of local residents that the underhanded way in which the potential sale of this land was only made aware to some local residents via media, demonstrates the total lack of community awareness and engagement by the proposed purchaser. While nobody in the community is unsympathetic to the veiled suggestion that the space would be converted into a garden for 37 residents in a local care home, the current number of people using it would be a significantly greater number and have a far more personal attachment to the space as it is already a part of their community
