Mark Drakeford promised that children’s education would be the first priority and if there was any headroom in the covid numbers then schools would reopen first. Now he’s prioritising shops and hairdressers over our children’s education. Get all children back to school, then see how the numbers are affected before opening non essential shops or self catering. As you promised you’d do.

Mark Drakeford made the promise that schools would reopen first.
Now he’s quoted as saying hairdressers will open before some children are back in school.
English schools will all return before even half welsh schools are open and our children went into lockdown earlier than their English counterparts and the welsh covid numbers are lower. There is no explanation for the inconsistency and it’s unfair to our children and their mental health let alone their education.
Why was this petition rejected?
There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.
