Rejected petition Call in the planning application for Penrhos Nature Reserve, Holyhead,Anglesey
Planning application for Penrhos Nature Reserve should be called in by the Senedd. The Relevant information that would support a planning application of this magnitude does not appear on the councils website. The planning application applied for by Land and Lakes to develop the reserve into a holiday village is very worrying in its lack of supporting documents and ecological reports. We request that the Senedd calls this application in with immediate effect.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.
Decisions about whether to approve or reject planning applications are made by local authorities.
Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue.
In considering petitions of this nature, we appreciate that there are circumstances under which the Welsh Government could decide to ‘call in’ planning applications but until that happens, the responsibility for specific planning applications rests with each local authority.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
