Rejected petition Open all shops and hospitality INSIST UK government give us 1.5 million doses ofvaccine immediately

The population of Wales is a mere 3 million people. The at risk groups have already been vaccinated, hospitals have minimal amounts of covid patients, yet we are being held in soul destroying lockdown.
Humans need social interaction to thrive. We have had a year to learn the lessons of how to control spread. It is time to trust the people.
If we had treated this respiratory disease in the same manner as Tuberculosis we would not have seen such spread, even in our hospitals and nursing homes.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.

Another petition calling for this is already collecting signatures:

Re-open the Welsh hospitality sector by 12 April 2021 https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244745

The Petitions Committee has recently considered petitions on this issue:

Allow supermarkets to sell "non-essential" items during lockdown https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244282

Allow all non-essential retail shops to continue to trade https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/244317

The procurement and distribution of vaccines for Covid-19 is being led by the UK Government’s Vaccine Taskforce, in partnership with devolved governments, with each part of the UK receiving a population-based share of the available supply. As a result, it is not possible for the Senedd to take the action called for by your petition.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
