Rejected petition Restore access from Dolgarrog to its train station by reopening the bridge to pedestrians

Dwr Cymru have made a unilateral decision to close the footbridge over the Conwy river and in doing so closed the sole means of access between Dolgarrog train station and Dolgarrog village. This petition calls on the Senedd to safeguard access to the station from the village either by enabling the bridge to be reopened or through construction of alternative access.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

As the owner of the bridge, this issue is the responsibility of Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water and not the Senedd or Welsh Government. As a result, it is not possible for the Senedd to take the action called for by your petition.

In addition, local rights of way and footpaths are the responsibility of local authorities. Therefore, the best way to get action on this issue would be to raise it with Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water and Conwy County Borough Council.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
