Rejected petition Stop children isolating for two weeks from school.

The impact on our children due to Covid won’t be really seen for years to come. What I can see that there is disproportionate requirement to isolate for two weeks that is unfairly impacting some children more than others.

More details

There have been numerous, extensive studies on the impact of missing school on children. I am very lucky and grateful to date my child has missed no school due to Covid. However others have not been as fortunate. I am aware of some children spending almost half a term at home. Yes in some cases they are still completing school work, however they miss out on many of the other benefits of school. In years to come when they have to sit exams will we take into account the disadvantage of those that had to isolate compared to those that did not? Will we offer additional mental health support to the children locked in bedrooms for weeks at a time? Will we find jobs for those children socially and motivational stinted from a lack of standard development time? Will we help those children shut into abusive homes with no escape?

Stop trying to find ways to undo the damage!Stop the damage being done.

Relaxation of other rules and the persistent of this is unfair give young people a voice.
