Rejected petition Give the people a vote (referendum) before introducing a default 20 mph speed limit in towns
Next year the Welsh Government is replacing the default 30 mph speed limit in all built up areas with a 20 mph limit. They say it reduces pollution (though breaking will throw rubber particles into the air). They say it will reduce accidents and deaths but so would banning cars but you have to weigh up the risk v benefits. Try driving for a sustained period at 20 mph and see what it will be like. I have. It affects us all so we should have a vote in a referendum before introducing this measure.
