Rejected petition Stop the use of vaccine passports in Wales.
The use of vaccine passports is unethical, it limits businesses and limits peoples lives.
Forcing people to undergo a medical procedure in order for them to enjoy themselves is absurd.
Why was this petition rejected?
There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.
The Petitions Committee is already considering a petition on this issue: Do not roll out Covid 19 vaccine passports for retail, hospitality or other premises
The Senedd voted in favour of Covid passports under The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (No. 5) (Wales) (Amendment) (No. 17) Regulations 2021 by 28 votes to 27 on 5 October 2021.
The full details of that item can be found here: https://business.senedd.wales/ieIssueDetails.aspx?IId=38103&Opt=3.
Following the vote in Plenary, the Committee will now return to consider the petition.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
