Rejected petition Allow parents to watch their child's class based Christmas performance in person.

This year, it appears that once again parents will not be allowed to watch their child's Christmas concert in person. Head teachers have been left with little support from Local Authorities to make the decision. With football matches and music concerts allowed, why have our children got to pay the price and miss out on their loved ones coming to see a short, class only, Christmas performance once again? We've already missed one Christmas concert and we will never have that time back...

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Petitions to the Senedd cannot concern an issue that is the operational responsibility of a local authority or individual schools and, therefore, we are not able to accept a petition on this issue.

The Welsh Government guidance states that local authorities, employers and schools must protect people from harm. This includes taking reasonable measures to protect staff, learners and others from COVID-19 within the setting. It states that any events should be risk assessed.
