Rejected petition Ensure works on Maerdy Mountain are carried out after regular commuting hours

It is planned to close Mardy Mountain for essential works during the day. The work will start 4th July and end 4th September. The detour to get to Aberdare and beyond is a long and dangerous drive. Coupled with the fact that fuel has doubled in price over the the last 12 months and the Mountain was closed last Summer as well, residents of Maerdy are asking for another solution.

More details

Either carry out the work at night, only close the the Mountain after the morning commute is finished or compensate Maerdy residents who are affected.
