Rejected petition Ban jet skis from Welsh waters

The enjoyment of a tiny minority ruins the pleasure for thousands of other.

More details

Like a large number of people, I went to Point Lynas on Anglesey on the August bank holiday weekend to see the Risso dolphins. It was an idyllic day with lots of people out enjoying the coastal path, the beach and the sea. There were plenty of dolphins and porpoise to see and everyone was enjoying the stunning natural environment. Then three jet skis turned up. They terrorised the swimmers, paddle boarders and kayakers and then turned their attention to the dolphins. They drove straight at them and then circled continually over where they had been surfacing for air, impinging their ability to breath. On top of this the noise carries along the whole coastline so thousands of people who are out to enjoy the serenity have the peace shattered. This is not an isolated incident. It is a regular occurrence on the shores of Anglesey and the Llyn peninsula, and I’m sure along the whole coast of Wales.
