Rejected petition Make Mansion House the official residence of the First Minister
While the First Minister of Scotland has an official residence, the Welsh First Minister does not and it creates an imbalance between the devolved leaders. Mansion House, the former residence of the Lord Mayor of Cardiff is the ideal place for such a residence. Its layout is fitting to host official events and dinners and it is situated near the heart of the nation's capital. An official residence would help professionalise their role as a serious political figure on both the UK and world stage.
