Rejected petition Lower interest rates and pause repayments for Student Finance to help with the cost of living crisis
Student loan repayments are currently taking well over £100 out of my take home salary every month which would pay for a weekly shop or go towards energy bills. When I recently received help from my employer as a one-off payment it was taken mostly by the taxman and Student Finance Wales (SFW). Surely in the current crisis individuals need this money more than SFW do? It feels like we’re punished for earning more and trying to better ourselves when the point of going to university is to do just that!
