Rejected petition Abolish The General Medical Council (GMC) in Wales and Allow Wales to Regulate it's own Doctors.

Thousands of Medical Doctors are Declining to Work for the NHS ; because of Shortcomings at General Medical Council (GMC).

Wales is Hugely Affected by such Medical (Doctor) Recruitment Shortages.

Each Nation of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland) should be allowed to Register (and Discipline) it's own Medical Doctors ; aided by the Independent Judiciary.

Wales could do this via a Welsh Medical Registration Board (WMRB) ; guided by Welsh Employment Tribunals.

More details

As at January 2023 , Thousands of Competent Medical Doctors , in the United Kingdom (UK) , are not willing to work for the National Health Service (NHS) ; primarily because of Unresolved Issues concerning Institutional Racism , Induced Suicides , and other Forms of Discrimination at the General Medical Council (GMC).

The Welsh Parliament should Fully Debate on this Issue ; as Wales is Hugely Affected by such Medical Recruitment Shortages.

A New (Home Grown) Welsh Approach to Professional Medical Regulation is urgently required ; most especially in terms of Stripping the General Medical Council (GMC) of it's Powers concerning Registration and Licensure , within Wales.

Each Nation of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) should ideally be allowed to Register (and Discipline) it's own Medical Doctors ; aided by Independent Courts.

Wales could do this via a Welsh Medical Registration Board (WMRB) ; guided by Welsh Employment Tribunals.
