Rejected petition Reinstate free school meal payments (means tested) for all school holidays
Opposition parties have criticised the Welsh Government for ending free school meals during the holidays, which only became apparent three weeks before the end of term.
The Welsh Government has left it very late to announce to families in Wales.
The detrimental effect this will have upon families this summer and future school holidays will be make or break for families. Children will suffer and go hungry.

Important update for Free School Meal claimants ❗️
Welsh Government has now confirmed that the last extension of holiday provision for learners who are eligible for free school meals ended after the May half term.
Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, there will be no further extensions, including over the summer holiday period.
We understand this may lead to some concerns and we would like to assure you that support is still available. We encourage families to explore the following resources ⬇️
