The nature and climate emergency require us to make significant changes in all aspects of our lives. One of the biggest practical changes we can make as people and organisations is in changing from meat to exclusively plant-based diets.
Changing our diet also reduces the likelihood of further ecosystem degradation from changes of land use to facilitate greater meat consumption
There are additional benefits for health; plant-based diets avoid health impacts that can arise from eating meat

Changing procurement to require public bodies in Wales to only purchase plant-based meals would make it easier for people to make healthy decisions and would lower the climate and nature impact of public procurement in Wales.
