Rejected petition Introduction of speed limits for cyclists

With the forthcoming TRO being applied in a blanket fashion in Wales, this will create and extend the many instances where cyclists and vehicles will be interacting, indeed, an increase of cyclists overtaking and undertaking motorists. For everyone’s safety, I request that all cyclists should be compelled to adhere to the appropriate speed limits, especially in residential 20 MPH zones

Introducing a speed limit for cyclists, would require the creation of a new road traffic offence, which would be outside the legislative competence of the Senedd (para 105 of Schedule 7A to GoWA).
