Rejected petition Allow food on prescription for children & adults with severe and multiple food allergies

Our son has suffered with severe allergies since birth. To date he has 17 known food allergies some of which are potentially life threatening. He cannot have dairy, wheat, egg, soya, pea protein, banana or pineapple just to name a few. Finding safe foods is really difficult and finding bread, pasta, yoghurts and other food comes at a huge expense. We were recently told that to have a prescription for those sort of foods he would need to have an autoimmune disorder rather than 'just allergies'.

More details

Children & adults suffering with multiple and severe food allergies should also have access to these food prescriptions too as they need to avoid these foods in order to stay well and in order to keep them alive in many cases. I cannot give my son anything that even says may contain - milk, eggs, nuts, wheat, soya or anything else that he is allergic too. Please help us to get this changed in order to help him and all the other allergy sufferers out there. Together we can make a change. Thank you for reading.
