Rejected petition Make all councils responsible to scan and keep deceased animals collected on the road.

Councils including Cardiff do not scan or keep animals including cats that they have collected.
Rather they may now and again apply a brief description of the animal then dispose of the body with the general waste.

More details

This leaves absolutely no closure for pet owners who have lost their beloved pet and may never know what has happened to them!
Some councils like the vale of Glamorgan still scan and keep for 7 days, this should be extended to all councils and made compulsory out of respect to the animal and the owner.
