Rejected petition Reduce the council tax across Wales.
Council tax across Wales is getting out of hand and is now the biggest financial burden on the people of Wales.
Large councils with massive reserves (up to £60+ Million) still increase the council tax touting budgetary problems, even though MS’s fight against these increases, the councils do what they want.
Council bleed the Welsh people dry, treat us as cash cows and expect us to continue to pay this ridiculously extortionate tax, it is now worse than the Poll tax and time it was stopped.
More details
We pay an extortionate council tax in Wales for a third rate service, there is no recourse when services are affected or cancelled but you are still expected to pay the full amount.
Council tax is now, for most, a second mortgage and for those that have paid off their mortgages they are now finding they are shackled to yet another extortionate monthly payment which cannot be paid off.
Councils with huge reserves should not be allowed to increase the council tax, it’s time councils came to their senses and realise that people cannot be continually bled dry.
