Rejected petition We are in favour of the 20mph Safety limit and wish to negate any reversal of the policy.

The 20mph speed limit was introduced to areas previously restricted to 30mph following cross-party support within the Senedd.
The move was based scientific evidence that the risk of fatality and/or serious injury is significantly reduced to persons at the lower speed, whether they be Pedestrians, Cyclists, Horse Riders or Motorists.

Politically this sensible policy may be at risk of change and we don't wish to see that.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.
