Rejected petition Widen Cefn Porth Road and Maes Y Bryn road which leads to the M4 junction 30

This lane is used as a rat run to the M4 motorway. The lane is only 1 car width wide and with very few pulling in spaces. It is absolute chaos in the morning if cars are travelling towards the M4 and cars are coming in the opposite direction. Cars are speeding expecting the lane to be clear and this ends in many many accidents. I fear for the safety of my children when travelling along this lane (I live along this lane and have no other choice to use it). Someone will die if this is not widened.

More details

This lane is used as a rat run to the motorway and is extremely busy. So much so the lane can be backed up for hours during rush hour traffic. Due to the lack of pulling in spaces. Not only is the lane too narrow but it’s classed as National speed limit so divers will drive at fast speeds. There is at least 1 if not 2 car accidents on this lane per week. People are driving too fast. There is poor visibility with lots of bends. I live along this lane so have no other option to use it but I am afraid and worried that this will impact my children - the last thing I want is for them to be in the car with me when someone crashes into me. This road causes chaos every morning and evening at peak times. Not everyone is good at reversing (myself excluded) and drivers experience a lot of road rage from other drivers. Please can something be done before someone gets killed.
