Rejected petition Create mental health hubs in every health board and within local authority education departments

We want to see the Welsh Government fund the creation of and staff mental health hubs within every health board and all local authority education departments throughout Wales. This will create a safe space for people of all ages who are struggling with their mental health or who need additional support and to be heard and listened too. We must ensure that we are able to help and support people in the first instance and at the point of need, and reduce waiting times.

More details

By proving mental health services within each local authority education departments, children from the age of 3 to 18 will benefit from being able to get the help they need at the point of need. Children would then be able to source support from schools and within the eduction setting.

By creating a better link between the NHS, Local Authorities and service providers, people in need of support would be able to get the help required more efficiently and at the point of need.

Wales and the UK has to prioritise mental health and ensure that people who are struggling or feeling like there's no alternative to suicide get the help they need, when they need it, without ridiculously long waiting lists.

We also need to ensure that services are advertised correctly, and are found easily by anyone who requires to find a service.
