Rejected petition Do not change the name of Wales to Cymru!

A petition has started asking for Wales to be renamed Cymru. I do not agree with this for many reasons, mainly the cost.
In 2023 we saw how the change to 20mph cost us as taxpayers £32 million. Changing the name would cost more.
Our Welsh Government needs to prioritise our NHS, Police, Schools and Council Services.
The petition to change the name argues that Wales is not a Welsh word. Currently 29.7% people in Wales speak Welsh but 100% of us will be impacted financially by the change.

More details

We also saw Brecon Beacons National Park Bannau Brycheiniog National Park at a cost of £30000. Bannau Brycheiniog – meaning “the peaks of Brychan's kingdom” – is derived from 5th Century King Brychan ruler of Brycheiniog. He originated from Ireland.
But he changed the name himself. It was originally kingdom of Garthmadrun! So will we see another name change in the future to reflect the true Welsh name.
