Rejected petition Dexa scans for all women over 60 years old and women at high risk of Osteoporosis.

Several friends have discovered they have Osteoporosis during their early 60's. This is as a result of sustaining fractures or experiencing pain. Osteoporosis is preventable with early diagnosis and advice/treatment. Let's give women a chance to have a good older age.

More details

Osteoporosis is a crippling condition that affects many women over the age of 60. There are significant cost implications to the women and to the N.H.S.
These are reduced quality of life, chronic pain, changes in confidence due to concern over falls and body image.
Cost of medication, the consequence of potential sustained fractures, demanding admission then risk of hospital acquired infections etc. Prevention is always better.
