Petition Introduce a statutory requirement for local authorities to transport children to Welsh Medium schools
Local authorities have a statutory requirement to transport secondary school children to a local school (which could be an English first language school) if they live more than 3 miles away, however, this does not cover transport to the nearest Welsh language school if a closer English language school is available.
We call on the Welsh Government to prevent discrimination to the continuation of the Welsh Language, and allow our children the choice of a Welsh language education for all incomes by making transport to the nearest Welsh medium school a statutory requirement for local authorities.
