Rejected petition Debate reduced speed limits on the M4 for pollution purposes, now the M1 and M6 have removed theirs.

Speed limits were implemented supposedly to reduce pollution but now the M1 and M6 have resumed national speeds because they saw no reduction in pollution, should we do the same and revert to the national speed limit.

In particular it would assist around Newport where more large ‘bunching’ is observed because of the limit forcing cars together.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue, or if the Petitions Committee has considered one in the last year.
