Rejected petition Whitchurch, Rhiwbina, Llanishen villages - save the free parking to save our local villages
The local villages are dying with less footfall, business are being left struggling.
Please help us to request the parking that was taken away along the main road in Whitchurch during Covid, to be restored. This will enable people to pop into businesses and help with Uber with the food businesses in the village.
Llanishen and Rhiwbina are having parking fees introduced which will stop people as it has done in Whitchurch.
We request that there is free parking even for an hour to help
More details
Whitchurch village is having fewer visitors. Shops are being left empty and the new car park restrictions will see a further deterioration to the local shops.
Without one hour free parking in the car park people will stop coming to use the village. People getting lunch can no longer just pull up and pop in, resulting in a drop of revenue for all food establishments. Uber will not stop to make deliveries which helps local people that are unable to leave their homes for whatever the reason.
Parking fees are now being introduced for Rhiwbina and Llanishen village, we need to stop this to save our village businesses
In covid we were asked to shop local. The local business owners stayed open and helped support everyone. We are now asking for your help to support us. If these parking changes happen there will be no local shops or restaurants left. With increasing business rates and business costs everyone is struggling. We need to act together to raise awareness and save our villages.
