Rejected petition Pause "digital voice" rollout in communities where power cuts would lead to incommunicado

We, the undersigned, call on the Welsh Government to pause the roll out of "digital voice" (the transition from copper wired telecommunications to fibre optic telecommunications) until questions are answered about communities ability to communicate in the event of a power cut

Due to how "digital voice" works, it requires an electrical circuit to work, therefore during a power cut, "digital voice" technology fails, however any fallback onto mobile phone networks can also fail as in some communities if there is a power cut the mobile phone network also fails because the mobile phone mast is on the same circuit.
