Rejected petition For Y Senedd Cymru to informally recognise the state of Palestine.

Whilst this conflict has raged for decades, in the past months, Israel are again in their own military strategist’s words “mowing the lawn”.
Evidence is mounting as it is alleged the State of Israel are committing war crimes & collective punishment to all Palestinian peoples in the latest conflict.
We the undersigned would like to show solidarity through Y Senedd by informally recognising the state of Palestine as a purely symbolic gesture, as formal recognition is not yet devolved to Cymru.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the Senedd or Welsh Government is not responsible for.

Anything to do with the recognition of a state (even informally) clearly relates to the reserved matter of foreign affairs/relations.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards
