Rejected petition Address the lack of localised Emergency Vets in Rural Wales
In rural areas of Wales, there is an obvious lack of Out of Hours Emergency Care for pets. This is demonstrated particularly on Ynys Mon where the closest OOH service is a minimum of 40 minutes drive. And even then, the fees required for emergency treatment are upwards of £236.00 just for consultation.
More details
A. Who can expect to be able to get an ill or injured pet to travel that far and still be alive?
B. If you cannot/have not got your own transport, then that's an even worse outcome for your beloved pet.
C. The majority of people, would not be in a position in an emergency to be able to afford that consultation fee while being in distress about potentially losing a family member, let alone trying to get them there in the first instance.
