Petition Deny RSPCA (England and Wales) any statutory powers in Cymru.

This year RSPCA (England and Wales) is 200 years old. Legally RSPCA Cymru is only a brand name used by them here in Cymru. Set up in Liverpool to bring prosecutions against those that abused wildlife. To some the society has achieved good things but to many it has many questionable practices and has repeatedly hit the headlines because of this. Thanks to brave individuals who have chosen to speak out through the decades. The Charity Commissioners have also launched several investigations.

More details

One lasted lasted six years. The Wooler report of 2014 which was instigated because of its private prosecution activity stated: "The main weakness is the lack of accountability"... and went on to say "The effect on the public is no less and arguably more serious in that they are subjected to unaccountable authority". I think it's worth pointing out that there are strong parallels to the Post Office & RSPCA in this regard .
It could be argued that our newer Senedd & Government is being approached because Westminster & in particular it's EFRA Committee have repeatedly ruled out giving any powers to them. Together with the reduced funding being experienced by those who do actually have legitimate powers the justification for this could be seen. I have a unique advantage because I was a branch Trustee for three years, a volunteer in a nationally-run animal centre for five. With every fibre of my being I urge my Senedd and Government to reject this on the grounds of animal welfare.
